ABOUT

Save the Wild Fund (SWF), founded by Mr. Tianqi Cody Zhou with a group of high school and college students from China and Uganda during 2015-2016 and officially qualified by the Uganda government in 2017. It is the first qualified local environmental nonprofits funding company for animal protection in Uganda. Its primary work is to ensure long-term conservation and protection of endangered wild animals and their health treatment through empowering and enhancing co-operation with the international and local institutions (government agencies, and social institutes) as well as individuals to be effective custodians of endangered species of wild animals and plants in Africa.
 

OUR MISSION

    - To raise funds for the care and protection of wild animals and plants.​
    - To facilitate treatment of sick wild animals in Uganda and other countries where our services may be needed through coordinating with UWA​
    - To legally exchange animals and plants between zoos/countries for treatment and research/study purposes.​

Stable, viable and diverse species of wild animals and plants live in harmonious co-existence with human communities.

Tianqi Cody Zhou
Founder
Executive Principal & CEO

Founder of Save the Wild Fund. A Devoted Volunteer and Community Server Currently studying as a high school student at Indian Springs School, US, what impressed the acquaintance of Cody Zhou the most is his enthusiasm for teaching, sense of responsibility and care towards the community across the world. Cody has traveled around the world, and for all the places he visited, he volunteered to teach in schools in local. Cody has volunteered in 7 different provinces and also volunteered to teach math, Chinese culture, music, and computer science in Australia, Uganda, United States, and Mexico. Especially in Uganda, he volunteered in Kololo Secondary Senior High School and Sseguku Primary School of Uganda for teaching Math and Chinese in August 2016. So far, Cody has continued his volunteering career for six years. He was volunteered in the subway station in the city, served in China National Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, built houses for Australian aboriginal people, etc.

In 2017, Cody has been employed as the ambassador of the LVRLACC (Lake Victoria Region Local Authorities Counties Cooperation). He has received attention from Uganda National Tourism Department and Uganda National Environmental Department, and he has successfully invited Diana Museveni Kamuntu, the daughter of Uganda president Yoweri Museveni, as the nominal patron and advertising endorsers for his funding company. In July 2017, Cody represented the wildlife association in Rwanda to speak in front of the UN panel.

Vincent de Paul Kayanja
Honorary Director

Mayor of the Entebbe Municipality and the Executive Director of Save the Wild Fund. Mr. Kayanja is devoted to the environmental affairs in Uganda. He is also the executive director of the LVRLACC (Lake Victoria Region Local Authorities Counties Cooperation).

Yutong Sapphiree Zhang
Associate Director

Yutong, a talented and independent young lady, currently studies at Washington University in St. Louis, U.S. She has been committed to doing her voluntary career in Uganda since 2016. She volunteered at Kololo Secondary Senior High School and Sseguku Primary School of Uganda for teaching Music and Chinese in August 2016.

 

Jiakun Wang
Personnel

Jiakun Wang is a student at the University of Washington, who stayed in Uganda for more than 7 years. He finished his middle school career in Kampala, Uganda, and he has volunteered in Uganda for years. He is an experienced, compassionate and brilliant young man.

 

Hanbing Ice Wang
Member

Hanbing (Ice) Wang is studying at Lake Forest Academy. She will start her college career at Brandeis University. She has attended the Civil Action Program while she studies in the U.S.

 

 

Encheng Tommy Zhang
Project Manager

Encheng Zhang is studying in St. Paul’s international college in Australia. He was born in Tanzania, and he grew up in Uganda. He has done community service in Africa for a long time. He is an excellent volunteer.​

Liang Xue
Member

Liang Xue is studying at the University of Sydney. She has attended the Chinese teaching program, Oasis children's homeworking programme, UGMUN, ALAMAU and Confucius Institute working program in Uganda in her past volunteering career.

 

 

Huaze Liu
Member

Huaze Liu is studying at Miami University, Oxford Ohio. He used to work in several non-professional translation groups, translated a large number of works from English into Chinese.
